Entertainment at your Event

{Photo Credit: DW Photography, Teryl Fletcher Photography, Gary Guy Photographer}

Nothing makes an event more spectacular than having some great entertainment. Now, when we're talking about entertainment, I'm not referring to that fabulous live band or DJ, that you've already booked. I'm talking about some great entertainment taking place during dinner or the cocktail reception or your special event. It WOWS your guests and makes your wedding or special event truly memorable.

We've been lucky to partner up with some great entertainers who offer anything and everything from belly dancing and bollywood dancers to flamenco dancers and river dancers; rolling live tables and flame throwers to live statues and aerialist performers. The real question is: What are you willing to offer your guests? To provide a WOW factor, you want to make sure your live entertainment will match the overall theme of your event; matches your personality. For example: If your having an Asian inspired theme, then having a dancing dragons would be very fitting.

Some things to take into consideration when booking some great live entertainment:
1. Be sure the venue has no restrictions on certain entertainment. For example: If you're looking to have some flame throwers or flame eaters, many venues may not allow it. So be sure to check with your venue before actually booking.
2. You want to make sure this type of entertainment will be appropriate for all ages. This usually falls under the category of belly dancers. We all love a fabulous dancer, but in our experience when scouting these dancers, we've seen professional dancers, and then the not so professional dancers. You want to make sure you hire a belly dancer who stays true to the art of the dance.
3. Please make sure you have seen their performance ahead of time and definitely request references; not just from previous clients, but from venues these performers have worked with in the past.

Your wedding planner is also a great resource in providing you with the perfect live entertainment, to ensure you and your guests enjoy every minute of it! Happy Planning!

{Liza+John} The Engagement Video

{Video Credit: Rolando Guajardo, Imagine Videos}

This past weekend I had the pleasure of seeing two wonderful people express their love in front of God, family and friends. Liza+John were a fabulous couple who turned into great friends and all I can say I was a mess of waterworks throughout the evening as I basked in their joy and happiness!

I was so honored to plan their wedding and I cannot wait to show you pictures! For now, though, I have a tearjerker of a short clip, by Rolando Guajardo of Imagine Videos. We presented this video during dessert at their wedding and all I can say is that there was not a dry eye in the room after it was over! Thank you Rolando for the great clip!!!

{Wedding Wednesday} The Sweet Trend Continues...

{Photo Credit: Adam Nyholt Photography, Gary Guy Photographer, WhosHu Photography, D. Jones Photography, DW Photography, Esvy Photography}

While the wedding cake is still the main showpiece of the wedding reception (of course, aside from the bride and groom), the sweet alternatives are still going strong. Cupcakes are still the number one alternative and chocolate fountains are still an undying trend, but dessert stations are the new fun addition to weddings and brides and grooms are just loving them!

Dessert stations are full of sweet goodness, from cupcakes, chocolate truffles, cookies, you name it, it's in there! Playing off the candy stations, the dessert bar is a fun twist to add more than just candy. So the next time you want some added sweetness to your wedding, consider the dessert station. Oh, and did we mention, it's a great alternative to the traditional wedding favors?

{Bridals} Stacy!

{Photo Credit} : DW Photography

I'd been so anxious to show off some of these gorgeous bridals, from the ever so fabulous Danny of DW Photography! You met Stacy (with her newlywed husband) with the fabulous engagement session, now you get to see her all dolled up and looking like a beautiful princess! All I can say is that I LOVE this girl to pieces, along with Robert and her entire family! I will miss planning her wedding but know that I've found a new friend and we still have future parties to plan!!! :)

Well, after a fiasco with the loss of her original wedding dress, we managed to get Stacy in a replacement dress, with some alterations, getting it as close to her original dress. Stacy looked absolutely STUNNING. We had so much fun during the bridal session and love how she's just such a trooper! Now, off to enjoy the fabulous pictures!

Stacy's bouquet: a mixture of red Peonies, white Freesias, white Mini Call Lilies, Akito Roses, pink Cymbidium Orchids and White Majolika Roses, accented with some crystals and a crystal brooch.

Having some fun at ZaZa!
