Recently, I came across an article on Huffington Post that reminded of why being a wedding planner is so important. Now, this isn't an article about why you should hire a wedding planner, as this has already been discussed. When I come across a couple who commissions me to plan their wedding, aside from being beyond excited about creating some beautiful memories for this couple, I know my couple is counting on me to create a beautiful wedding...to create beautiful memories.
Weddings are a time for celebrations, a time for families to come together, a time to rejoice, a time for happiness. Weddings do not have to be elaborate or over the top. A wedding is simply the union of two people so amazingly in love; the world doesn't exist for these two as they are looking into each others eyes and promising a life of love and partnership. What makes a wedding truly meaningful and memorable, is being surrounded by those you love.
Marta said it best in her post, "What I Learned about Weddings from My Parents' 50th Anniversary". It is truly a beautiful read.
So, when planning your wedding, don't forget what is really important about YOUR wedding and be sure to place some emphasis on this important element!
Happy Planning!
