The Graduate: Mariette

{Photo Credit: A Day To Remember, Mariette Afoutou}

I always love how not only do I have a work relationship with clients, but a relationship that develops into a beautiful friendship. I was invited to my friend, Maricela's baby shower, to partake into a wonderful moment in her life. (It's so wonderful how I've been there for all her special milestones in her life!) At the shower, I had the pleasure of meeting some of her wonderful family and friends. What's even better? Gaining a client through a social event. More awesome? Expanding my circle of friends just that much more! :)

So, Mariette, a former classmate of Maricela at the University of Houston (go Coogs!), who was to graduate in December of '09, approached me about the idea of a possible graduation party. I told her I thought it would be a fantastic idea. Her parents, living in France would be coming into Houston and were truly proud of their little girl, and all her accomplishments. We had to have a fabulous graduation party, and based on the feedback from all of Mariette's family and friends, I want to say they all had a fabulous time. A huge thank you goes to Claudia and the wonderful staff of The Magnolia Hotel for being so wonderful!

Now for some pictures! Enjoy!

The details.

Rolando's Birthday Party...the big 30!

{Photo Credit: Imagine Videos, Justin Flores Photography, A Day To Remember}

A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY goes out to Rolando of Imagine Videos. I've had the distinct pleasure of knowing this young man for almost a decade. When I first met Rolando, he was just a sweet kid with a dream of launching his videography business. Now, he's a grown man, with a successful business and a good friend. I've been honored to work events with him (including my own wedding) and look forward to a continuing partnership.

We had some help from some great friends and colleagues, and together, we were able to put out a beautiful and fun party. The party took place at the studios of the Art Alliance in Sugar Land. It's a great building filled with a co-op of different business, from painters, artists and of course videographers (also home to Imagine Videos).

We certainly had our work cut out, as everything needed to be brought in and set up, but that's part of the fun in planning a party. We've got some pictures showing what the art studio looks like on a regular basis, and what the room looked like after we finished decorating. Enjoy the pictures!

The before look...scary, isn't it?! :) {Photo Credit: Rolando, Imagine Videos}
