{Wedding Wednesday} Spring | Summer Wedding Trends

{Written by: Emma Aguirre}

Think bright and bold for your summer wedding this year and look to the rainbow for your color inspiration! Not only will all of the primary colors pop against the crisp white dress of your dreams, but bright colors add an element of fun and play.

Each of these colors can be used together in most aspects of your wedding. Think fruit skewers on the buffet table, fun umbrellas, colorful lanterns, even the cake can be layered in color. Simple flowers over a sharp white linen complete with a chair tie, in the matching color of course, takes the fun into the reception. This simple theme can even extend to your bridesmaids, with each one in a different color of dress and matching bouquet to suite their unique personality. When done right and in just a few of the key elements of your wedding, this theme can be as chic and unique as you are.

What about picking just a few of these hot hues to brighten up your day? Pantone's color of the year – Tangerine Tango – is a vibrant choice that can really be paired with most other colors, bright or pale. For a beach wedding, try adding fuschia to tangerine for countless gorgeous floral options. Teal and tangerine is a more daring combination but equally as striking. Even paired with slate gray, chocolate brown or purple, this summer-sweet color will bring a sophisticated flair to any event!

{Wedding Tips} Do I Need a Wedding Planner or a Wedding Coordinator?

{Written by: Emma Aguirre}

The ring is on and now the exciting – yet daunting – task of planning your dream day begins.

The first question? Where to start…

Being clear on who does what in the wedding industry and how they can help you can answer many questions. A wedding planner and wedding coordinator, for example, are two very different roles. A wedding planner offers full planning services, which includes “day-of” coordination. They will guide you through the entire planning process from start to finish and in every aspect, bringing the vision of your wedding to life. A couple will be able to tap into the creativity of a professional who is up to date to the latest wedding trends, as well as take advantage of pre-existing relationships the planner has built over time. Every detail is fine tuned to ensure that your day is just as you have imagined and more.

A wedding planner is a wedding coordinator, but a wedding coordinator isn’t necessarily a wedding planner. A “day of” coordinator simply takes all of the planning you have done independently, and ensures those plans are executed, resulting in a stress-free wedding day for you! Typically, a wedding coordinator will review contracts before hand, follow up with wedding professionals, resolve any "behind the scenes" issues which may arise and manage your special day. Wedding coordinators can be a definite "budget friendly" option, or the perfect alternative to that Type A bride and/or groom!

Whether you chose a coordinator or planner, do your research and don’t be afraid to meet with your favorites. It’s important that you find that planner who is as passionate and excited about your wedding as you are; after all, you will be spending lots of time together!
