With so many engagements, come many bridal shows and Open Houses, so we wanted to provide you with some tips when attending any of these events. NOTE: Some of our tips will apply to certain events and not others and vice versa. We wanted to ensure we covered all grounds for you to better prepare you for a more pleasant experience...

TIPS WHEN ATTENDING A BRIDAL SHOW|OPEN HOUSE:

We can't stress enough on the following tips we will provide you when visiting any bridal trade show and/or wedding open house. Be sure to follow these tips {feel free to print it out} to ensure a pleasant and relaxing experience!
  • Be sure you have at least three {3} hours, minimum, to spare when visiting the show.
  • It makes your experience much simpler having goals in mind. For example, if all you need is a wedding planner, cake vendor, a florist or a photographer, then focus on those booths and don't accept promotional items for other vendors you don't need. {This will decrease your "baggage"!}
  • Be sure to prepare pre-printed labels, maybe 3 sheets worth, with the following information:
  1. Name of Bride & Groom
  2. An email address {I recommend you create a wedding email address for this purpose only}
  3. Telephone number {your choice of home or cell}
  4. Wedding Date
  5. Number of expected guests to attend
  6. Mailing Address {optional if you'd like to receive mail}; personally, I wouldn't provide it on the labels, stick to email! :) Remember, your address will already be provided when you register at the show. Decrease duplicate mailings! :)
  • Only distribute your labels to those vendors you ARE interested in. Don't be afraid to say "No" to a vendor who insists you give them a label. It is YOUR choice, not theirs, so if you don't want to provide a label, then don't! :)
  • Please wear comfortable shoes for plenty of walking and standing
  • Bring some snacks or prepare to pay for food in cash. Some food vendors don't offer credit card purchases.
  • Don't bring in too many people with you; sadly not everyone is into your wedding! :) We usually recommend you have either your parents {mom}, your fiance {if he's a willing participant for the show} and your maid of honor or willing bridesmaids.
  • If the fiance isn't into the wedding planning, don't force him to go, as it will only make for a long and miserable time. {As vendors, we've witnessed plenty of bored and upset grooms to be, who'd rather just not be there}. In the end, it makes for a not so pleasant experience. Worst, your groom will be rushing you! :)
  • If you are unsure of what services you need, use Saturday as your "window shopping day", review the important vendors that night and go back on Sunday to "close the deal" or "set up consultations".
  • Take a backpack or a tote bag to use for your preferred vendor promotional items. Don't just grab a flyer/pamphlet because it was handed to you. If you're not interested in the company, don't take the flyer/pamphlet! Remember, it only adds unnecessary weight. ;)
I hope you have found this information useful! Happy Planning!

Happy 2012 everyone!!! We hope you had a wonderful holiday season. 2011 was a great year for us and it was such a blessing for us to end the year with such success! We were honored to have a good 42 memorable events under our belts, so THANK YOU to all of you that helped make this happen!

We wanted to share with you a fabulous double feature from the latest issue of Modern Luxury Houston Brides Magazine....

Earlier in the year, I teamed up with a group of talented people, included fab photographer, Gary Guy to style a Pin-Up and Old Hollywood Glam bridal shoot. It was a concept I'd been toying with, as I wanted to bring something a little fresh and a twist to the "vintage chic". The hard work payed off with a great "Wed Dossier" feature. We will feature the full shoot in a future post, but for now, enjoy the feature...

Weddings are all about love, happiness, pretty flowers, the perfect dress, and so forth. Along comes a bride to be, a knock-out gorgeous young lady, who always has a smile on her face and takes care of all her Starbucks customers providing some tasty caffeinated beverages, {oh, and I should mention, always took care of me when I used to hold my meetings at her Starbucks} and says she's engaged. The handsome gentleman is one of the sweetest guys I've met, who is always upbeat and you can hear him belt out some tunes during his shift at...that's right....Starbucks! :) Guess you can figure out how they met, huh? ;)

Well, back to Laura+Mark and their wedding. I have to say it has been one of the sweetest weddings I've had the pleasure to work {if you can even call it that}. Even though their wedding concept was eclectic, with a hint of vintage, I have the say that their theme was more about LOVE! I saw the love between these two throughout the planning and they could have had their wedding just about anywhere and they wouldn't care...to them, it was about being married. It was truly an honor to have this beautiful wedding featured, so enjoy for now and stay tuned for a future post featuring more wedding highlights, as I don't want to ruin the fun surprises this wedding held!

Thank you to Modern Luxury Houston Brides magazine for the double feature! Always a humbling honor! If you'd like a hard copy of this issue, simply give us a call, or come by our office to pick up the latest issue!

Happy Holidays!!!

{Artwork Credit: A Day To Remember, Image Credit: The Peanuts.com}

Christmas is truly my most favorite time of the year! Year round, we are so consumed with work and every day life, that we forget to think about the little simple pleasures, and to spend time with family. The holidays are a great way to slow down from the every day and reflect on the many blessings received through the year. I'm reminded that I need to focus on what is truly important: My health, my family, the successes and why I'm here.

I'd like to take this time to thank each and every one of you who helped us in having a successful 2011 wish you all a wonderful Holiday, however you may celebrate it. May we all have a SPECTACULAR 2012!!!

Our offices will be closed as of today, Friday, Dec. 23rd and will re-open on Jan. 2nd. We will be checking emails on a limited basis.

Happy Holidays!!!

Dripping crystals off of floral masterpieces, cool rich tones of deep purples and pinks, offset by pewter silver set the tone for the beautiful wedding of Lan+Avi. One of my fellow photographer friends and colleague, Ben Sassani of Sassani Photography {a fabulous guy with an incredibly artistic eye}, married to sister of the bride, sent Lan my way. When I first met Lan and her fabulous sister, Thao {who by the way, was the creative soul to the beautiful stationery for Lan's wedding, oh, and also happens to own her own stationery company, Memories of Today}, over coffee, we hit it off instantly!

Transforming the hotel ballroom from a gorgeous ceremony setting to a breathtaking reception was definitely an exhilarating task. It's weddings like this that get my adrenaline going, knowing we have just one hour to re-transform a room while the guests are immersed in conversations with family and friends, while sipping on cocktails and nibbling on tasty bites. Unbeknownst to them, a room is magically transformed to WOW them upon entering.

The hard work from a great team of colleagues was beautifully captured by the fantastic Ashley Kohlleffel of Ashley K Photography. I will be sharing with you the full wedding gallery in a future post, but for now, we would love to share with you the quick feature of Lan+Avi's wedding in the Spring/Summer 2012 issue of The Knot Magazine. Enjoy!

A huge Thank You goes to the fabulous team of professionals that helped in making this wedding as beautiful and perfect for Lan+Avi.
