Cupcakes!

Photo Credit: A Day To Remember

Cupcakes! Who doesn't love a cupcake?! They are cute, fun and most importantly, they are delicious! In the past year, cupcakes have become the new rave, for birthdays, parties and weddings!

Cupcakes are cute dessert treats that have been around since the early 19th century. They have been spreading delight and enjoyment for over a full century and they are still going strong, maybe stronger than ever now.

Originally, cupcakes really came about due to measuring tools and what was the most practical manner in which to bake. Portions today are sometimes actually two or three times what a single portion should be. Nowadays, cupcakes come in all sizes, from bite size, regular and jumbo sizes.

Cupcakes still make people feel like a kid again. Maybe it’s because they are small and individually wrapped and decorated, or maybe it’s because they just seem to make you smile. If you hand one to even the most masculine of men, suddenly he looks like a little boy again. The little treat suddenly makes him seem more like an approachable teddy bear.

Truly, there is just something about cupcakes that make them a universally enjoyed treat. Children and adults love them equally. They are a treat that will continue to be enjoyed for decades to come!

A Day To Remember offers a wide variety of cupcake designs, from themed to gourmet; birthdays to weddings! Be sure to give us a call the for your next cupcake order!

About weddings....

The year 2007 was a great one, filled with lots of work! We are extremely grateful for that! We were fortunate to be witness to some beautiful weddings! Yes, we are in the wedding industry. We’ve been doing this for ten years, but every time we see a bride ready to take that unforgettable walk down the aisle, all the emotions seem to over take me. The swelling of the throat, the goose pimples on the skin and the tears of joy. I still get emotional and extremely happy for my brides! I’d love to take this time to share with you some pictures of some of our previous weddings!

I realized a long time ago that no matter how big and lavish or how small and intimate, each and every wedding we’ve done, it is one of the most important days of that bride and that groom’s life. To them, it is important; therefore making it just as important to me. I love weddings and can’t see myself doing anything else!

I anticipate for 2008 to be a fabulous year. This year, I will also do my best to post pictures of some of our weddings, so please be sure to come back and visit us!

Valentine's Day: Great Gift Ideas

Well, Valentine's is almost here! What do you have planned for that day? Ladies, did you know that while men may not admit to it, they too love to receive flowers! Still skittish about sending them flowers, for fear their "macho" co-workers will tease him. Well, how about some edible roses that all his "buddies" at work will want one for themselves. We have some cookie arrangements available, feauturing our signature sugar cookies shaped in the form of roses or tulips.

For you men, many times, it's not about sending her flowers and a box of chocolates. It's more than that...and no, I don't mean, more expensive. It's all about the little details. Women, for the most part, prefer small thoughtful gifts. Gifts that show her you're thinking about her, gifts that have special meaning to her. Consider maybe righting a poem, making a handmade card or how about a love coupon book? Those are just fun and interactive games that she will absolutely love. Instead of taking her out to a nice restaurant, why not surprise her with a fabulous and romantic dinner right at home!

If all else fails, guys, just visit our website and check out our Valentine's day specials!

A Day To Remember is born...

Marketing three businesses is no fun task, especially if you're passing out three different business cards. With just Cakes To Remember and Flowers To Remember, it was easy to make a two-sided business card but with a third company, not quite the same. I decided a folding business card would work best. I hired a company to come up with some ideas for the design of my new business cards. The idea worked great and voila! I had a business card with all three names. Here I thought my problem was solved, but the fact that there were three names in a business card, I realized that some people would still get confused.

I decided the business was ready for a facelift, of sorts. So, I decided that A Day To Remember will be the company name and all our services could umbrella under it. While I continue to keep the name Cakes To Remember and Flowers To Remember, A Day To Remember was best, since it covered all our services and would certainly leave it open for other services we would eventually offer.

I met with my wonderful webmaster, Cole with Squidz Ink Design and asked him if he could come up with a new concept for the business. I wanted a fun logo, yet professional. A logo that would let people know what all we had to offer. Voila! I immediately fell in love with the design and the makeover on our website!

One of the rules in marketing is to brand yourself. It makes it difficult when your website has one name, one logo, but your business cards still carry the old names with old logos. So a design in the new business cards was in order. I worked off the old design concept and redesigned my new cards.

Our services indeed have expanded. What started off with just cakes, then flowers and eventually coordinating, has turned into a full-service venue, offering linens, event design, catering and chocolate fountains.

I've always believed in growing and don't be surprised when we are a complete "one-stop shop"! So be sure to visit our website for new updates, and for our monthly specials!
