{Wedding Tips} Fresh Venues

{Pictures & Logo Credit: The Inn at Dos Brisas, Fifty-Two-Swenty-Six elm and Westin Resorts}

I always get excited when I hear of a new place that has opened up, or has been revitalized for a wedding. We are constantly looking for something different...a venue that hasn't been jaded in local publications, time and time again. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing with having your wedding at an ever so popular facility; on the contrary, it is a good thing, as many of our clients tend to be visual people, and like the idea of envisioning their own special day in a familiar setting. On the flip side, we always get that client who has a different outlook on weddings, or wants something not normally seen in publications or wedding blogs. So when a new venue pops up, I get excited!

Well, today, we've got three new great venues I'd like to showcase. Each venue is different, but all of them, spectacular!

The Inn at Dos Brisas:
I had the pleasure of meeting with Shannon earlier today to talk about this little hidden jewel! Surprisingly, this little paradise has been in existence since 2004! Perfect for outdoor weddings of up to 500 guests, or an intimate rehearsal dinner catered by their 5-Star restaurant, brides and grooms will surely enjoy! The Inn at Dos Brisas is the perfect setting for that Texas feel: rustic, yet sophisticated. Be sure to visit their website for more information!

The Westin Houston - Memorial City
When you here the name "Westin", you know you are in for the royal treatment! This new addition to Houston opened their doors in March of this year and has been such a hit! Located in Memorial City, adjacent to Memorial City Medical Center and Memorial City Mall, it's the perfect setting for the bride and groom, seeking a modern look. Each and every ballroom has its own personality, set with beautiful neutral tones and top-notch service! Westin Houston - Memorial City is the perfect setting for rehearsal dinners, and up to large parties of 600 guests! Visit their website for more details!

fifty-two-twenty-six elm
Hip and trendy, 5226elm is the newest excitement, catering especially to the intimate weddings of up to 100 guests. With indoor and outdoor options, 5226elm will win your heart over with their beautiful garden and meditation pool...sounds heavenly, doesn't it? Oh, and did you know that they won the enviable American Institute of Architects' prestigious "Building of the Year" design for Texas? It's a gorgeous building, so if beautiful structures are your thing, then, this is the place for you! Visit their site for all the details!

So there you have it folks! You now have at least three different venues to consider. I hope you have found this helpful and Happy Planning!

{Specials} Hello...Sizzling Summer!

{Artwork Credit: A Day To Remember}

Today we celebrate Summer Solstice. A few quick facts:
  • Summer Solstice is the year's longest day with the shortest night.
  • Solstice derives from the Latin words "sun" and "stand still"; so as our summer days lengthen, the sun rises much higher into the sky, giving us the illusion that our sun stands still!
Well, in celebration of Summer Solstice, we have some Sizzling Specials! So, brides and grooms, if you haven't booked your planner or Day Of coordinator, now is the time to do so. We know how stressful planning your special day can be, so we are here to help!

Give us a call {713.862.1751} or send us an email {info@daytoremember.net} to set up a complimentary assessment! Happy Summer!!!

{Wedding Teaser} Meagan + Brandon: The Wedding

{Photo Credit: DW Photography}

You may remember Meagan+Brandon from their fabulously fun engagement shoot. Well, their gorgeous wedding finally took place in late May at the fabulous House of Blues. I don't want to give too much away, but I have a few teasers of the decor. The ever so fabulous Danny of DW Photography was gracious enough to whet my palette with some fabulous pictures.

If this is any indication of the pictures to come...I can't wait to see and share with you all. For now, though...Enjoy!

{Visual Recap} Bridal Bliss Open House

{Photo Credit: DW Photography}

We have been so blessed with lots of weddings happening, that sometimes some pictures just take a backseat. The {DTR} staff is working at full speed to get these lovely pictures all out to you. Included in this stack of great pictures, is the collection from our beautiful Bridal Bliss Open House we hosted this past February.

We wanted to incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year: Honeysuckle, and we paired it with rich purple and silver tones and a touch of yellow. Our visual recap {captured by the ever so fabulous, Danny of DW Photography} will certainly provide you, my lovely fans, with some fabulous color and design inspiration. So, enough chit chat...Enjoy!

Royal tables add so much drama to a ballroom. I love to encourage these type of tables for wedding head tables.

The yellow Wedding Cake really pops in this decor setting.

Dance entertainment is always a crowd pleaser at weddings. JAKS Dance did a phenomenal job at our open house.

Our open house guests enjoyed an assortment of different cupcake flavors: Our signature Almond, Strawberry, Italian Creme and Red Velvet.

Another wedding cake, for the client who still likes to keep it traditional.
